Fifth project for my art class. I've been looking at NW Native American style art and decided to design then carve a totem pole. This is the design part, and the carving will come later.
Each of these animals represents one person in my immediate family.
Animals from top down:
Orca, Beaver, Frog, Raccoon, Goat, Bear.
The original is really tiny, smaller even than the full view. :/

I'm in an International Baccalaureate art class at my high school. It's basically independent study; we choose a thesis and then do about ten projects relating to that throughout the year. I researched this style from books provided by my teacher since it relates to my thesis (connections between animals).

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

I especially love the beaver
So what kind of school/class do you go to that teaches you this style?
